Mock courtroom with two story curved Sapele pommele wall, judges bench, podium, counsel tables, jury box and gallery seating with leather cushions and a meeting room with conference table.
The Sapele used for the curved courtroom wall came from the remainder of a very large, wide flitch (over 100,000 square feet) that had been used on a project many years earlier for another customer. The original customer wanted the most consistent veneer, rejecting the part with most character and color variation. We didn’t have the heart to use the unwanted veneer as backing or throw it away, so we saved it, hoping to find a customer who would see the beauty we saw. That customer was the South Texas College of Law. By matching the veneer from the center out, a distinctive wall was created.
