Curved ribbon Sapele paneling stairs and oval reception desk. Flat paneling at the lobby and conference center. Anegre paneling at the executive level, including 100 doors, wood and glass office fronts, servery, sliding motorized doors, cantilevered credenzas and boardroom table and plastic laminate cabinets with solid surface tops.
“Overall we were very happy with the entire project
team, especially the Field superintendents and
crews. I would highly recommend Brochsteins and
would be more than happy to and hope to work
with them again.”

Tesoro was an adventure due to a continuous, four-story, oval, Sapele staircase that had to integrate perfectly with a stainless steel trough. Part of the success of the stair was due to comprehensive discussions with Harvey and Gensler prior to shop drawings. Extremely detailed coordination and clear communication were also required for the curved reception desk since the stone was fabricated in Italy. As meticulously planned for, the wood fit the stone perfectly. Another difficult detail was a 14 foot 7 inch wide servery on the executive level. Motorizing a door this size safely, reliably, quietly and seamlessly is not easy. Another challenge on this project was sourcing the right veneer. While the Sapele used on this job is readily available, most veneer is sold in 8, 10 or 12 foot lengths. Finding 13 foot material that met with the architect’s approval in all the public areas demanded an exhaustive search but ended in success.
