Some spaces are occupied by the same customer for years on end, but as companies merge, expand or consolidate, spaces change. Different companies utilize space differently, and it was nice to collaborate with the architect and general contractor to help Oxy to remove, modify and relocate screens, paneling and doors from two floors produced for Pogo Producing Company in 2002 to a new floor for Oxy. Lacquer screens at windows were repurposed with all thread rods and a Uninstrut frame and hung on the ceilings at lighting in the reception and board room areas while wood screens were used as clerestories in corridors. Existing panels were removed and utilized for a feature wall. Doors were retrofitted to accommodate electric hardware and fit new openings at new office fronts. The architect was very imaginative in the reuse of the existing millwork.
